Dr. Ajay Vellore, M.D., M.S., is double board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Vellore was fellowship trained in Pain Medicine right here at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to that, Dr. Vellore received his Bachelor of science degree in Microbiology at the University of Maryland, and then attended Georgetown University, where he completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree. After that, Dr.Vellore then went on to Anesthesiology residency at the Mayo Clinic, where he served as the chief resident in his last year.

Dr. Vellore’s curiosity in chronic pain was first piqued in residency, where he gained valuable experience with difficult-to-treat conditions, with patients travelling from all over the world to seek care at the Mayo Clinic. It was there Dr. Vellore also learned a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to treating pain, understanding not only the physical strain that chronic pain can cause, but also the emotional,social, and psychological aspects of pain as well.

Dr. Vellore’s treatment intersts include spinal stenosis, complex regional pain syndrome,neuropathy, and back/leg pain after surgery.
